Is it seriously nearly Easter? I swear it was not five minutes ago that I was judging the flowers other people’s partners sent them on Valentine’s Day (which, rudely, many didn’t actually post on social media this year – totally inconsiderate). Well, if I needed convincing that it was time to get in the hot cross bun spirit then this new LUSH collection should certainly do the job.
The Range
LUSH’s Easter collection launches March 23rd and is in stores until April 17th. I strongly recommend you get on board with it as soon as possible because I’m certain some of these are going to sell out (though hopefully not before I’ve stocked up some of my personal favourites while hissing “my preciousssss”). The collection features a few returning favourites as well as a pretty huge selection of newbies too. I was sent six products to try out, but worth noting there’s also a face wash jelly (Flopsy), a shower gel (Wash Behind Your Ears) and a few gift packs (Golden Egg, Carrot and Bundle of Fun) as well as what’s pictured below. Now for the fun part!
Chocolate Lip Scrub* – RRP $9.95 (new)
I honestly thought nothing would replace The Kiss Lip Scrub as my favourite lip scrub but I stand corrected. This lip scrub tastes like jaffas which is basically akin to saying it tastes like happiness, so this has quickly launched itself second from the top of my “must selfishly stock up on” list (only surpassed by the next product on this list). As with all LUSH lip scrubs, it’s coarse enough to do the job well but also hydrating enough with the oils included to balance out the exfoliation. This one has dark chocolate, castor sugar, orange oil and tangerine oil to make that irresistible taste. Yum. Now I want chocolate…
The Golden Egg bath melt* – RRP $8.50
The only scent from the LUSH range that I love as much as the Twilight scent is the “Honey I washed the kids” scent. I consequently get really excited whenever I see gold LUSH products as they’re often in the same scent family (notably the gold “fun” which I bought a huge supply of when I was in London… which I have since run out of… sigh). The Golden Egg is no exception (hah… eggception… get it?) and as a result it’s one of the products I’ll be stocking up on. It’s worth noting that the scent is not QUITE the same, probably due to the lack of honey. The glitter will make a mess of your hands but it’s actually remarkably easy to wash away so don’t stress about your bath looking like a glitter bomb exploded. I will say that something in this melt makes me a little itchy (something a lot of LUSH melts seem to do to me damnit), so if you have sensitive skin you might need to be careful, but it’s not a bad enough reaction to prevent me using it all the time (Worth. The. Pain.). I don’t find that the scent lingers an exceptionally long time on the skin. I wish they’d release the Honey I Washed The Kids perfume outside of LUSH Oxford Street so I could smell like it all the time!
Chocolate Easter Egg Soap* – RRP $6.95/100g (new)
Another newbie to the range. I tend to prefer shower gels and creams to soaps, but I think that might just be a personal preference. In saying that, I grew to love the Love You, Love You Lots Soap from the Valentine’s Range so I might yet be converted. I noticed this one felt a lot softer than the other soaps I’ve tried (almost greasy but not in an unpleasant way?), possibly due to the inclusion of coconut oil. Scent-wise it’s quite tangy, due to the lemon oil, but this is balanced by the cocoa butter and vanilla absolute. It’s a really unique scent and I’m looking forward to trying it!
Bunch of Carrots solid bubble bar* – RRP $10.95
This is a returning product to the range and one that always makes me chuckle. I feel like they’ve altered the colours since I first tried these (I seem to remember them being all orange?) but somehow that just makes them cuter. I love how easy it is to divide these up for separate baths and I’m always impressed with how many baths you can get out of LUSH bubble bars (my pink flamingo is still going strong after three baths and I have a larger than average sized baths – and I still have well over half the bar left). This one has sort of a zesty, earthy smell with bergamot and lemon oil. It’s not my favourite scent in their range but it’s lovely nonetheless.
Which Came First? Bath Bomb (stripes)* – RRP $9.95 (new)
This bath bomb comes in both a stripes and spots version. Mine had a little bit of damage in the post which is unusual for a LUSH product, so just make sure you’re careful not to throw this around. I suspect the delicate nature of it is due to it being multilayered. The outer shell actually hides a cute little mini bath bomb inside which is in the shape of a chicken! I love little surprises like that so A+ for that LUSH. This one has a pretty citrusy and tangy scent to it. It turns the water a nice orange shade and it doesn’t have any shimmer to it so clean up is minimal. I found the scent lingered quite well on my skin as I could still smell it a few hours later.
Chick ‘n’ Mix Bath Bomb* – RRP $11.95 (new)
This bath bomb just makes me giggle. You can actually use it as three separate bath bombs if you wish because the two sides come apart to reveal a mini bunny inside. Too cute! I haven’t used this one yet so I can’t attest to how long the scent lasts but it doesn’t have any shimmer to it so it’ll be easy to clean up. This one is again a more earthy/zesty scent rather than sweet, with bergamot oil and tonka absolute.
Final Thoughts
Another win for the LUSH limited edition runs. Not all of these are going to make it to the top of my favourites list, but to be fair that’s because scents are a pretty individual preference thing. I adore The Golden Egg fragrance and the Chocolate Lip Scrub so these will be things I definitely go collect extras of. If you like citrusy scents (such as the Dragon’s Egg bath bomb for example), then you should DEFINITELY go check this collection out ASAP.
As you’ve probably gathered from my propensity to disappear off the planet, my new job has been keeping me extremely well occupied. I’m hoping to bring you guys a bit more content in future once I hit some holiday time and can create a backlog of posts. In the mean time, thanks, as always, for your patience and support. It means a lot!
Lovely post! Love reading what everyone thinks of the products 😊 my favourites from the Easter range would have to be Chick N Mix and golden Egg. Would you mind checking out my blog? learntolush.wordpress.com

I actually really love the scent of the Bunch of Carrots! And yes, they were originally all orange but like you I prefer the multi-coloured design. I also found it a bit weird that the Which Came First is listed as new, seeing as it was already around last year. It had a slightly different design though with the same colours so I think that’s probably why it’s listed as new.

I like the Bunch of Carrots but it’s not my favourite – to be fair, it’s hard for me to love anything as much as I love twilight ;p (erm… the scent… not the novels O_o)
I didn’t realise that! I missed the Easter collection last year (not sure why). Interesting though!

Oo what a fun post! I can’t wait to try their new range. One of my favourite bath bombs is Karma. I wanna see if any of the new stock can top that! xo

I’ve actually never tried karma! Sorry I wish I could tell you if they’re even similar 😦 but hopefully you find something you love!

Karma is a bubble bar! If you love that scent they have a body lotion version and a perfume with the same scent! Bath bomb wise the experimenter shares quite a similar scent to Karma xxx

OK, so I have a hard time with Lush products because I used to eat shaving cream as a kid…….And I know that’s been 20 years, but I’m afraid I will just be sitting in the bath, running a Golden Egg melt under the water and my childhood self will be like ” come on, what’s one little bite? Remember the shaving cream?”

I may or may not have choked on my coffee laughing while reading this comment. I may or may not have laughed all over again when reading it again in order to reply when I was no longer at work. I like your style hahaha. I feel that way about Oh Deer Sugar products.
