I tend to carry handbags so giant that they can fit everything including the kitchen sink and a small bathroom renovation. I have, however, been trying to mend this habit slowly and I’ve consequently downsized my bag in the last couple of weeks. Alas, gone are the days where I can let twenty-plus lipsticks/glosses/balms accumulate in the depths of my bag (and no, that isn’t an exaggeration – that happened quite a lot). With this in mind, I’ve had to vastly cut back on the beauty essentials I keep on hand. I thought it might be nice to share the six products I felt I couldn’t go without – though honestly I’m still a bit nervous about no longer having that kitchen sink in there. You just never know…
So I have a confession to make: when I put on weight, I decided bra shopping was too damn hard. I could not for the life of me find a store that stocked my size (or rather, what I thought was my size). Even on occasions where I’d decided “stuff it!” and been willing to pay a small fortune, I still couldn’t find a damn thing to fit. I was consequently really curious when I heard about Buxom Envy, a store in Adelaide which operates via appointment only.
I confess I was sceptical. Their instagram said they specialised in small back and large cup sizes but I’m a large back and average cup so I wasn’t convinced it would be for me. I shot them a message via Insta asking if they stocked things in my size and was assured that they did, so off I went to make an appointment.
Okay so I have a confession to make… I have a weird obsession with subscription boxes yet have never actually ordered one.
“But Steph,” you may argue, “How can you have an obsession with something you’ve never ordered?”
Well, dear reader, the answer is simpler than you think. I’m obsessed with watching unboxings and reviews, but too damn scared to take the plunge and order one for myself because I’m always scared that I won’t feel like I’m getting value for my money. Nevertheless, upon having stumbled across Boxie on instagram, I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. Spoiler alert: I’m glad I did.
